Overview
This certificate develops the knowledge and skills needed to lead Christian communities and to support people in living their faith day to day, covering Christian theology, biblical knowledge, pastoral intervention techniques, and culture and communication examined from a theological perspective. The 30-credit program is nominally one year of full-time study, with up to 15 credits of prior learning eligible for recognition. Some courses are offered at a distance, and hybrid and comodal formats are available for select courses, giving flexibility around how the program is completed. Admission is offered in the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. It is designed for students preparing for pastoral or community-leadership roles within Christian organizations, or seeking theological grounding for related professional or personal purposes.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Quebec applicants need any DEC. Applicants with Canadian secondary schooling from outside Quebec need a secondary-school diploma plus one year of university coursework. International applicants need 13 years of pre-university education, or 12 years plus one year of higher education, or an equivalent French or Belgian secondary credential. Applicants whose schooling was not in French must demonstrate French proficiency via the TCF test, with a result of at least 361/699 and at least 8/20 on the written-expression component.
