Overview
The Master of Business Analytics at UBC Sauder is a twelve-month, full-time, in-person degree built around coursework rather than a thesis. The curriculum covers the whole analytics spectrum, moving from data management through descriptive and predictive work to prescriptive decision-making, and pairs technical fluency in Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI and machine-learning tooling with the business judgement needed to apply it in strategy, finance, operations, supply chain, marketing and human resources. Students take part in an industry-run hackathon with a global technology partner, then complete a four-month experiential requirement as a paid analytics internship, a group consulting engagement, or an individual research project. Small cohorts, a case-driven and industry-aligned curriculum, and coaching through the Business Career Centre support placement into analyst and consulting roles.

Admission Requirements: This program is administered by the Sauder School of Business rather than the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. It requires a three- or four-year bachelor's degree with a B+ average or recognised equivalent, plus a GRE score of 155 on both the verbal and quantitative sections, or a GMAT score of 515 with at least the 50th percentile on the verbal, quantitative and data-insight sections (550 or higher with at least 50% on quantitative and verbal reasoning, under the previous GMAT format). There is no minimum work-experience requirement, but two references are required and applicants are assessed holistically on maturity, motivation and fit through essays, resume, references and interview. Applicants whose degree is not from an English-speaking Canadian or US institution must submit TOEFL iBT overall 100 (scale score 5.0), IELTS Academic overall 7.0, PTE Academic 70, CAEL 70, or Duolingo overall 130.

Application Deadline:Domestic and international undergraduate applicants both apply through EducationPlannerBC for Winter Session 2027/28 (September 2027 entry) and Summer 2027: applications open in early October 2026 and the equal-consideration deadline is 15 January 2027, 11:59 p.m. PST, the same date for both groups; a few programs keep reviewing late applications on a space-available basis afterwards. Earlier dates apply only to entrance-award consideration -- 15 November 2026 for the International Scholars Program and 1 December 2026 for Presidential/Centennial/Beyond Tomorrow scholars. Several limited-entry programmes -- Law, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing (advanced entry), Occupational/Physical Therapy, Social Work and Teacher Education -- set their own earlier deadlines from October 2026 through February 2027. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
