Data Analytics: Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) - UBCV

Data Analytics is a specialization within UBC Vancouver's Bachelor of Science in Food and Resource Economics that pairs a core in applied economics with data-analysis training for interpreting large datasets and generating economic insight for decision-making. Coursework covers the economics of natural resource conservation and global food markets alongside coding in Python and R, data visualization, causal-inference methods, and evaluation of policy effectiveness. Students learn from faculty in the Food and Resource Economics group, the Vancouver School of Economics, and the UBC Sauder School of Business. The degree runs four years of full-time study on the Vancouver campus and offers an optional co-op stream in which students alternate between academic terms and paid work terms; an honours option is not offered.
