Overview
The Master of Data Science and Analytics is a 12-month, course-based program developed jointly by the Faculty of Science, the Haskayne School of Business, and the Cumming School of Medicine. It prepares graduates for careers in data science and business analytics through four core courses covering data visualization, statistical data analysis, statistical modeling, and big data management, plus four specialization courses, an integrated topics course, and a professional or research internship. Students choose a specialization in Data Science, Business Analytics, Financial and Energy Markets Data Modelling, or Health Data Science and Biostatistics. Admission requires a four-year undergraduate degree with at least a B grade in computer programming, statistics, and calculus or linear algebra. The program is delivered in person with Fall admission only and a maximum six-year completion window; a laddered diploma option can be completed in four months.

Minimum GPA:3.00 / 4.0
Admission Requirements: Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale over the last two years of full-time study, and a four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized institution. Applicants must have completed computer programming, statistics, and calculus/linear algebra coursework with at least a B grade. Required documents: unofficial transcripts, proof of prerequisite completion, and a GPA calculation worksheet; no reference letters, test scores, or work samples are required. Applicants whose primary language is not English must meet the Faculty of Science's English Language Proficiency requirements.
