Program details

Overview

Run by the Faculty of Forestry, the micro-certificate builds natural resource managers' understanding of forest carbon accounting, the data sources and analysis behind it, and how forest carbon projects and their associated markets are structured. It covers both compliance and voluntary markets, as well as domestic and international forest carbon projects, serving as a foundation for professionals already working in the field and for those looking to diversify their skills and roles. It draws on a continuing partnership that brings together researchers from the university with practitioners across government, non-governmental organisations, the private sector and industry.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: This program is applicable to a wide range of potential applicants who are working in or will go on to work in natural resource management positions in government, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, industry, and combinations thereof. Applications are open to natural resource professionals and practitioners across all sectors who have demonstrated an interest in and a need to further their understanding of how to assess and monitor forest carbon, establish and administer carbon projects, and navigate the evolving landscape of relevant markets.
