Software Engineering: Bachelor of Engineering Degree (BEng)

Admission Requirements: DIRECT ENTRY FROM SECONDARY SCHOOL: Grade 12 or equivalent; English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 at a minimum of 73% (TRU accepts, in place of that mark, ESAL 0570 taken with ESAL 0580, or else ENGL 0600 or ENGL 0601); Pre-calculus 12 at a minimum of 67% or equivalent; Chemistry 11 at a minimum of 67% or equivalent; and Physics 11 at a minimum of 67% or equivalent, with Physics 12 at 67% or equivalent preferred. ENTRY AFTER PART OF A FIRST YEAR OF ENGINEERING ELSEWHERE: considered case by case and subject to approval by the TRU Engineering Undergraduate Admission Committee; you may be asked to upgrade or complete prerequisite courses. ENTRY AFTER A YEAR OF POST-SECONDARY SCIENCE OR RELATED STUDY: an overall GPA of 3.00 (B) or higher; a grade of B or higher in each completed 1000-level Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry course; and C+ or higher in completed 1000-level English courses; again case by case with committee approval and possible prerequisite work. ENTRY DIRECTLY INTO SECOND OR THIRD YEAR: possible after completing the equivalent first year, or first two years, of TRU's engineering courses at a recognised university, or after a first year of TRU science courses from cognate departments or at a recognised university — each assessed case by case with approval from the same committee and possible upgrading. TRU lists the program as open to international applicants and publishes one set of academic requirements for both applicant types.
