Foundation in Adult Basic Education

Admission Requirements: Thompson Rivers University's Adult Basic Education program sets entry by course level rather than a single admission bar, and applicants must be at least 18 years old to earn the BC Adult Graduation Diploma through it. Entry into the Grade 10-equivalent (0400) level requires ENGL 0300, English 9, or equivalent, at a minimum B, or placement via TRU's entry assessment tests, alongside Mathematics 9 at a minimum C- for MATH 0400. Progression to the Grade 11-equivalent (0500) level requires MATH 0400 at a minimum C+ or Foundations of Mathematics and Pre-calculus 10 at C+, and ENGL 0400 or equivalent composition/creative-writing courses at a minimum C+. The Grade 12-equivalent (0600) level in turn requires ENGL 0500 or equivalent at C+ and MATH 0510 at a minimum C, or Pre-calculus 11 or equivalent.
