The programme also requires a portfolio of four examples of creative work showing originality and process (professional fashion skill is not expected), plus a roughly 500-word statement of intent, submitted through the ChooseTMU portal with a $50 CAD assessment fee, by February 1, 2027 for the Fall intake or August 1, 2026 for the Winter intake (or 10 business days after applying, whichever is later). Applicants without Ontario schooling may be considered with the recognised equivalent, at TMU's discretion; the general admission requirements page sets IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 92, Duolingo 120, PTE Academic 60 or CAEL 70 for English proficiency.

Non-academic ('Grades-Plus') requirements are generally due around this point too, though the exact date varies by programme. For Winter 2027 (January-start) entry, TMU's program-status page gives domestic applicants a guaranteed-consideration date of 1 December 2026, with most programmes closing applications in mid-December; a limited number of programmes separately accept international applications for winter admission subject to space availability, but TMU publishes no fixed closing date for those international winter applicants. Admission is not rolling: late applications are considered only as space allows after the guaranteed-consideration date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
