Early Modern Studies is a Bachelor of Arts program offered jointly by Dalhousie University and the University of King's College in Halifax. It examines the ideas, discoveries and cultural movements of the Renaissance, Enlightenment and beyond through history, literature, philosophy, political science, art history and religious studies. Students study influential thinkers, artists and historical events alongside themes such as colonialism, scientific discovery, witchcraft, piracy, revolution and cultural exchange, building an interdisciplinary understanding of the period. Combined Honours, Honours and Minor options are available within the BA framework, allowing the subject to be paired with other areas of study. New students begin the Bachelor of Arts intake in September at the Halifax campus, with the joint delivery giving access to faculty and courses at both institutions.
