Overview
This program offers a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, with a PhD in Mathematical Modelling and Methods also available, through the Faculty of Science at Toronto Metropolitan University. MSc students produce a thesis or major research paper and develop skills in writing technical and scientific reports and communicating complex results to a general audience, working within three main research groups: financial mathematics, biomathematics and fluids, and discrete mathematics and networks. Faculty research spans biomathematics, biostatistics, complex networks, computer security, cryptography, data mining, differential equations and operator theory, financial mathematics, fluid mechanics, statistical mechanics and graph theory. Sample courses include advanced numerical analysis, analysis and probability, applied statistical methods, discrete mathematics and its applications, and partial differential equations.
