Overview
The Pre-Law Certificate is for students who have already earned a Trinity Western University degree and want to add legal-studies qualifications. Coursework introduces foundational legal concepts, including how the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms affects politics, society, and individual lives, and is intended for students planning to study law, attend law school, or pursue law-related careers such as paralegal work, law clerk positions, policing, or business. Courses examine how legal decisions and Charter rights affect civil liberties, including religious freedom, and are intended to give students a grounded basis for discussing contemporary legal and policy debates. The certificate is offered through Trinity Western University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and is related to the Political Studies, International Studies, Business (BBA), and Human Services programs, giving graduates of those programs an additional, focused credential in legal studies.
