This 30-credit certificate allows students to acquire foundational knowledge of law across three orientations: general law, business law, and public law. Coursework develops analytical skills for applying legal concepts in professional practice rather than preparing students for legal practice itself. The programme is offered full-time or part-time, with courses offered principally in the evenings and on weekends at the Montreal and Brossard campuses, or through the Virtual campus. It is delivered by the Faculty of Continuing Education and can serve as one component of a cumulative bachelor's degree combined with other Universite de Montreal certificates or minors. Graduates apply legal literacy in business, administrative, and public-sector roles, or use the certificate as a foundation for further study.
