Overview
Christian Education and Discipleship is a concentration offered within Tyndale Seminary's Master of Divinity program, combining Christian history, theological studies, and biblical studies with educational studies and discipleship practice. Coursework includes Evangelism and Discipleship, Learning to Teach; Teaching to Disciple, Curriculum Design for Learning and Discipleship, Ethnography for Ministry, Nurturing the Spiritual Lives of Children, Children, Youth and the Changing Family, and Strategic Leadership for Children's Ministry. The concentration is also available at shorter length within the one-year Graduate Diploma and two-year Master of Theological Studies. Students examine how theology, education theory, and developmental understanding inform the design and delivery of discipleship and Christian education programs across different life stages. The program prepares graduates to design curriculum, lead educational ministries, and provide strategic leadership for children's, youth, and family ministry within church and parachurch settings.
