Overview
The Bachelor of Education - Primary/Junior FSL programme prepares teacher candidates to teach Grades K-6 in Ontario schools, combining foundational pedagogical theory with subject-specific content across core areas including language and literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, and health and physical education, alongside the arts. The consecutive, 60-credit-hour programme runs full-time over 12 months and includes 82 practicum days in Ontario school placements. Throughout the programme, candidates engage with inclusive-learning practices, professional ethical standards, and technology integration in the classroom. Students also complete an elective Additional Qualification in an area such as literacy, environmental education, or early years education. The programme runs full-time, beginning in August, and admission is competitive. Graduates are prepared to apply for an Ontario teaching certificate through the Ontario College of Teachers, with the FSL designation supporting eligibility for French-language teaching assignments alongside the standard Primary/Junior qualification.
