Master of Science (Biochemistry)

The Master of Science in Biochemistry (M. Sc.) is a two-year, 45-credit thesis-based graduate degree offered by Universite de Moncton at its Moncton campus. Students complete a 33-credit thesis built around an original research project undertaken with a faculty supervisor in biochemistry or molecular biology, alongside coursework in research proposal writing, a research seminar and critical analysis of scientific articles, plus six credits of electives such as advanced biochemistry, macromolecular mechanisms or lipid biochemistry. The research must reach a level suitable for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Before applying, candidates must secure a professor willing to supervise their thesis and include that supervisor's letter of acceptance with their application. Graduates are prepared to conduct independent biochemical research and pursue doctoral studies or specialized roles in biochemistry or molecular biology.
