This 90-credit Bachelor of Political Science provides training in political analysis and theory, covering political institutions, electoral behaviour, international relations, and public policy alongside rigorous qualitative and quantitative research methods. Students can take part in political simulations such as a model United Nations, model African Union, and model Council of the European Union, and may complete up to four months of credited internships with governmental, non-governmental, or private organizations in Canada or abroad. An honours pathway and an accelerated two-year option are available alongside the standard three-year route, and international mobility exchanges are offered. Full-time study normally takes three years, with a four-year option and part-time study also available; classes are held during the day on the Montreal campus. Graduates pursue careers such as political adviser, political attache, policy analyst, journalist, or diplomat, and roles in federal, provincial, and municipal government, media, NGOs, and international cooperation, or continue to graduate study in political science.
