Overview
This undergraduate certificate in philanthropic management is a 30-credit program offered by Universite de Montreal's Faculty of Continuing Education for people working in, or entering, philanthropic and community organizations. It is Quebec's only French-language university program in philanthropic management and was developed in close collaboration with practitioners in the field, some of whom teach in it. Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to work as administrators or professionals within philanthropic and community organizations, for roles such as donor-targeting professional, fundraising coordinator, financing-strategy advisor, development consultant, nonprofit administrator, event coordinator, or communications agent. The program is delivered through evening courses at the Montreal campus and is generally taken part-time, with fewer than 12 credits per term; full-time completion within one year is not guaranteed. Admission is currently suspended.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet Universite de Montreal's French-language-proficiency requirement at a minimum B2 level in oral and written comprehension, demonstrated through a recognized test taken within 24 months before the intended start term or through passing Quebec's Epreuve uniforme de francais. A mandatory post-admission French-writing assessment may require upgrading courses. Admission to the program is currently suspended.
