The Master's in Criminology is a 45-credit graduate program offered through four specialization options: a thesis-based General option (minimum three full-time terms), an Intervention option with a practicum leading toward accreditation from the Ordre des criminologues du Quebec (minimum four terms), an Internal Security option with directed work (minimum four terms), and a Forensic Science and Information option with directed work and a mandatory semester at the Universite de Lausanne (minimum four terms). Coursework and seminars draw on faculty expertise spanning criminology, law, sociology, psychology, and political science, with day classes on the Montreal campus and optional international exchange. Admission requires a bachelor's degree in criminology, psychology, sociology, law, or a related field; applicants without a directly related bachelor's degree must complete a preparatory year. Graduates pursue careers as criminologists, probation or parole officers, or classification officers, in research, intervention, security, and policy settings. The program admits students for the Fall term only.

Admission Requirements: Applicants need a bachelor's degree in criminology, psychology, sociology, law, or a related field; those without a directly related bachelor's degree must complete a preparatory year. Required documents are a letter of intent or motivation, a curriculum vitae, and the departmental form for master's admission. The program is taught in French. Admissions are currently suspended for the Criminological Analysis and Justice and Victims options. Admission is for the Fall term only, with applications due between August 1, 2026 and February 1, 2027.
