This 30-credit certificate offers two pathways: one exploring criminology as an academic discipline, and another focused on practical intervention skills for professionals working with offenders or victims of crime. Coursework includes criminal law and justice, sociological and psychological perspectives on crime, and the assessment of criminal violence. The programme is offered full-time or part-time, with courses held on the Montreal, Laval, and Brossard campuses, or entirely online. It is delivered by the Faculty of Continuing Education and can serve as one component of a cumulative bachelor's degree, combined with other certificates, in areas such as the criminal phenomenon, social sciences and health, or religion, spirituality, and intervention practices. Graduates pursue further study or roles related to criminal justice, corrections, and victim support.
