The Master's in Demography examines fertility, mortality, migration, couple formation, aging, and historical demographic patterns at the level of individuals and societies. The program offers a general thesis-based option, a general option with an applied-demography internship, and an international option combining a thesis with international-development expertise. Students access confidential microdata and statistical training workshops, and the program maintains research partnerships with institutions in Europe, the United States, Africa, and Latin America, including optional international study opportunities. It is delivered on the Montreal campus through full-time daytime coursework and totals 45 credits, completed over a minimum of three full-time trimesters. The program is offered in collaboration with the International Health Unit of Universite de Montreal and the Higher Institute of Population Sciences. Graduates are prepared for research, analysis, and applied-demography roles in government, international organizations, and research settings.
Requirements
