Overview

The Master's in Education, Language Teaching Option is a 45-credit professional master's composed entirely of coursework, with two concentrations: teaching French through children's literature, and secondary-level language teaching. The program develops professional competencies for language instruction and includes an introduction to research methods. It also serves as a continuing-education pathway for holders of the Graduate Diploma (D.E.S.S.) in Language Teaching. Courses are delivered on the Montreal campus, with day and evening options in full-time or part-time formats; completion requires a minimum of three full-time trimesters, up to a maximum of six full-time trimesters or twelve part-time trimesters. The children's literature concentration is offered as a cohort beginning only in the fall term and does not permit full-time enrolment in every trimester.
