Overview
This Master's degree in Information Science is a professional graduate program offered by the Ecole de bibliotheconomie et des sciences de l'information (EBSI), the only information science program taught entirely in French in North America. The 51-credit, coursework-based program (no thesis) develops professional competencies in information management, building on the student's undergraduate training. It includes a required 36-day professional internship and is accredited by the American Library Association. Full-time study takes a minimum of four trimesters, with a maximum of six trimesters full-time or nine trimesters part-time; part-time study is also available. Classes are held on the Montreal campus, supported by laboratory facilities for archival studies and digital documentation. The program is delivered in small cohorts with close faculty contact, preparing graduates for professional roles in libraries, archives, and information and documentation services.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution; the program is open to graduates of any discipline.
