This Diplome d'etudes superieures specialisees (DESS) in nursing sciences, specialized nurse practitioner profile in neonatology, prepares licensed nurses for advanced practice in neonatal care. The 30-credit, three-trimester full-time program builds a comprehensive and integrated understanding of the nursing discipline and develops sound clinical judgment across neonatal care situations. Coursework grounds clinical practice in evidence-based research and prepares graduates to exercise the expanded scope of practice granted to specialized nurse practitioners under Quebec's nursing legislation. Graduates are equipped to take on clinical, transformational, and policy leadership roles within neonatal intensive care and related settings, in healthcare institutions, communities, and the broader health system. Admission is offered in the Fall term at the Gatineau and Saint-Jerome campuses, and the program is contingented, admitting a limited number of students across sites.
