This Diplome d'etudes superieures specialisees (DESS) in nursing sciences, offered through the Universite du Quebec network, builds in-depth, research-grounded nursing knowledge for practising nurses. The 30-credit program develops graduates' ability to critically examine complex health problems, analyze evidence-based approaches to care, and ground their clinical practice in scientific research findings. It is intended for licensed nurses seeking to deepen their disciplinary and research knowledge without pursuing a full master's degree, strengthening their capacity to work with complex clinical situations and contribute to evidence-informed care in hospital, community, and other health settings. The curriculum combines core nursing-science coursework with electives, allowing students to tailor part of their studies toward areas of clinical or professional interest while maintaining a shared research-methods foundation. The program is offered on both full-time and part-time bases at the Gatineau and Saint-Jerome campuses, with admission in the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms.
