This 45-credit professional master's program trains registered nurses as specialized nurse practitioners in mental health, leading to a Maîtrise ès sciences. Building on the graduate diploma (DESS) in the same specialization, it combines advanced nursing practice with delegated medical activities aimed at supporting the recovery and health of people living with mental disorders, across levels of care ranging from prevention to complex case management. The curriculum develops advanced assessment, clinical decision-making, and intervention skills specific to mental health nursing practice. Admission requires prior completion of the related graduate diploma and a minimum of 3,360 hours of relevant clinical nursing practice within the preceding six years. The program is offered on a full-time basis at UQO's Gatineau and Saint-Jérôme campuses, with admission in the fall term.
