This PhD programme trains independent researchers to advance knowledge in didactics, the study of teaching and learning of disciplinary content. The credential awarded is a Philosophiæ doctor (Ph.D.). The programme comprises 90 credits, with an estimated full-time duration of four years, structured around coursework, examinations, and a doctoral thesis. Courses are offered mainly in the evenings or at a distance, to accommodate students who are working professionals. Instruction is delivered in French. New students are admitted in the fall and winter terms.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a master's degree in education sciences or a relevant field of study and research, or an equivalent qualification. Non-francophone applicants must hold French-language certification, with a TCF score of at least 400 on the mandatory components and at least 10/20 on written expression, or completion of course FLS-2011 with a grade of C or higher.
