The PhD in Education Administration and Policy trains researchers to analyze and evaluate educational policies, reforms, and systems. Areas of study include gender and education, the history of education, research methodology, organizational theory, educational planning and management, the political dimensions of education, and the sociology of education. The 90-credit programme combines coursework with independent doctoral research and is estimated to take four years of full-time study, culminating in a thesis that presents original research clearly and coherently in writing. Applicants must hold a master's degree in education, education administration, or a related field in the human or social sciences, with a minimum cumulative average of 3.1 out of 4.33, and must secure a faculty supervisor before admission; at least six credits in education administration or policy and three credits in research methodology are required beforehand. Instruction is delivered in French, and non-francophone applicants must meet a minimum French-proficiency score. The programme can be pursued partially or entirely at a distance from within Canada.
