This 30-credit certificate introduces students to the education system and its dynamics and modes of operation. Coursework covers education system analysis, psychology, child cognitive development, education technology, ethics, and interculturalism. The program is designed as an entry point into the field of education rather than a teaching credential and does not lead to teaching authorization. It is nominally one year in length on a full-time basis, though it can be completed full-time or part-time, and up to 15 credits of prior learning may be recognized toward it. Courses may be taken partially or entirely at a distance. Credits earned in the certificate are transferable toward a multidisciplinary bachelor's degree or related education programs at the university. The program is taught in French and admits students in the Fall and Winter terms.
