This thesis-based master's programme prepares students to conduct original research at the intersection of statistics, machine learning and health sciences. Students apply statistical methods to population health, medicine, pharmaceutical research and large biomedical datasets while completing a research thesis under faculty supervision. The programme totals 45 credits and is normally completed over four full-time sessions (two years). Coursework includes probability, statistics, mathematics and linear-models training alongside the supervised thesis project. Most instruction takes place on campus, with some courses offered at a distance, in hybrid format, or comodally; the programme must be pursued full-time. It leads to a Master of Science in biostatistics with thesis, preparing graduates for research careers in biomedical statistics, epidemiology, and pharmaceutical or public-health data analysis.
