Overview

This graduate diploma prepares practicing teachers to instruct English as a second language at the elementary or secondary level. Delivered entirely online over 30 credits on a part-time basis, the program develops essential knowledge in teaching and pedagogy specific to second-language instruction. Students build professional competencies grounded in their own teaching experience, systematically analyze their classroom practice, and reflect on their methods while engaging in ongoing professional development, applying evidence-based pedagogical strategies. The program is restricted to candidates already employed in a teaching role, combining academic coursework with applied classroom practice. Admission is offered for the fall and winter terms only, and courses are delivered fully at a distance, allowing students to continue working while completing the diploma alongside their teaching duties.
