Overview
The Certificate in Adult Education and Training at Universite TELUQ is a 30-credit, first-cycle university certificate delivered entirely online. The program develops competencies to plan, deliver, and evaluate training for adult learners across varied learning contexts, including both in-person and distance settings. The 30-credit curriculum is organized into five course blocks covering distinct competency areas in adult-education theory and practice, including needs analysis, instructional design, facilitation, and evaluation. The program is intended for trainers, instructional designers, and professionals working in adult-education or workplace-training settings who want a recognized credential in the field. It does not lead to the teaching diploma (brevet d'enseignement) issued by Quebec's Ministry of Education. Courses are self-paced and can be completed from any location without fixed class schedules. The certificate can stand alone or be combined with other TELUQ certificates toward a bachelor's degree.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Adult Education and Training Certificate follows one of three routes: holding a Diplome d'etudes collegiales (DEC) or the equivalent; being at least 21 years old with appropriate knowledge and at least six months of full-time (or equivalent) work experience for an organization involved in adult education; or having completed five university-level courses (15 credits). All applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in French, attested by Universite TELUQ's own written French test or an equivalent recognized test.
