Overview
The Office Assistant certificate at University College of the North is a ten-month program that prepares graduates for entry-level administrative positions. Delivered in-person at the The Pas and Thompson campuses from September to June, the curriculum builds skills in computer applications, keyboarding, business communications, and general office procedures. General and medical-office streams are offered at the Thompson campus, allowing students to focus their training toward a specific administrative setting. Graduates take up roles such as office assistants, bookkeepers, payroll clerks, receptionists, and data-entry clerks across private business, government, and healthcare employers. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires English 30S and Pre-Calculus Mathematics 30S, Applied Mathematics 30S, or Essential Mathematics 30S, or equivalent coursework. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet University College of the North's general English proficiency requirement, satisfied through TOEFL Paper-based 550 with no section below 50, TOEFL iBT 80 with no section below 20, or IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0.
