Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering Co Operative Mining Engineering

This Co-operative Education stream of the Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, offered by the Faculty of Engineering, covers the responsible extraction of critical minerals and clean-energy fundamentals, spanning subjects from surface and underground mining to physical and mathematical sciences. The program is described as the largest of its kind in Canada. Students complete a common first-year Engineering curriculum before choosing this specialization; admission is not available directly from high school. Under the Co-op option, students complete five paid, supervised work terms of four months each in addition to the usual eight academic terms of full-time study, extending total completion time to five years. Graduates are prepared for careers in industry and government related to critical minerals and clean energy.
