BA/BS in Pharmacology is a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy programme taught at University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. The programme is delivered on campus. Tuition is CAD 729 per credit for local students.
This program examines pharmacology, the study of how chemical substances affect living organisms, including the effects of pharmaceutical drugs, street drugs, and other chemicals on people and on society. It leads to a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Pharmacology, and is also offered as a BSc Honors degree. The major is structured as a customizable degree, allowing students to build their program around two areas of interest by pairing it with an optional minor or a double major drawn from a wide range of subject areas rather than following a single fixed track. Coursework addresses the biological and chemical mechanisms behind drug action and toxicity in the body. The program suits students drawn to the life sciences who want a strong grounding in how pharmaceutical and other chemical substances interact with living systems, with the flexibility to combine that focus with a second area of study. It is intended to prepare graduates for further study or for roles such as pharmaceutical researcher, toxicologist, forensic laboratory analyst, food and drug inspector, and quality control manager, among other science-based career paths listed on the program page.

Application Details
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply directly to the University of Alberta, not through a provincial service: for Fall 2027 entry the application window opens 1 October 2026 and the deadline for most programmes is 1 March 2027, though several limited-enrolment programmes close earlier (Juris Doctor, 1 December 2026; Dental Hygiene, 1 November 2026) or later (Bachelor of Design and BFA programmes, 1 May 2027); Spring and Summer 2027 admission also opens 1 October 2026, while Winter intake is limited to a few programmes. International applicants use the identical published dates and online application; the university states no separate international closing date. The 1 March deadline is firm and late applications are not accepted, but admission decisions are then issued on a rolling basis, and offers made before 1 April must be accepted by 1 May 2027. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
