Overview
This Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation program examines the economic, social, and political forces that marginalize people, focusing on Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies. Much of the learning takes place while working on problems in class and through supervised field education, where students learn to design, deliver, and evaluate community-based support services and to form alliances that promote full participation in the community. First-year courses include Disability in Theory and Everyday Life, Introduction to Community Rehabilitation, The Organization and Diversity of Life, and Introduction to Disability Studies. Graduates work in areas such as career development, aging, brain injury, physical disability, inclusive education, and research. The degree can also serve as a foundation for graduate study or further professional programs such as medicine, speech and language pathology, or physical therapy.
