This undergraduate program is the first cycle of an integrated bachelor-master continuum in physiotherapy at Universite de Montreal, delivered full-time through day courses on the Montreal campus. Students learn to prevent, evaluate and treat impairments and disabilities affecting the musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiorespiratory systems across the lifespan, through lectures, case-based learning, practical labs and simulation training at clinical skills centres. Over 30 percent of credits are devoted to practical activities, and the programme includes 14 weeks of clinical placements in hospitals, private clinics, rehabilitation centres, CLSCs and schools. The bachelor's degree alone does not authorize clinical practice: graduates must complete the subsequent professional master's degree to be licensed by the Ordre professionnel de la physiotherapie du Quebec. The program is designed for students pursuing a career in physiotherapy, combining theoretical coursework with hands-on clinical training from early in the curriculum.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry is offered to Quebec DEC holders, to university-educated candidates with at least 12 completed university credits, to holders of a DEC in techniques de readaptation physique, and to holders of an equivalent non-Quebec credential; Indigenous and Black-community applicants have dedicated selection criteria. Admission is decided 70% on academic-record excellence and 30% on Casper exam results, an online assessment of judgment, professionalism, ethics and teamwork; the published cote de rendement collegial (cote R) for admitted collegians has had a recent-cycle minimum of 32.759, though meeting the minimum does not guarantee admission. Because instruction is in French, applicants who did not complete their prior schooling entirely in French must document French proficiency through Quebec's Epreuve uniforme de francais, through 60 or more university credits taught in French, or through an accepted French test. The programme is not open to international students holding study permits. It admits once a year for the Autumn trimester, with CEGEP applicants applying by 1 March 2027 and other applicants by 1 February 2027; placements require a background check and required vaccinations.
