Program details
Overview
This undergraduate program leads to a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) with a concentration in marketing through the Haskayne School of Business. Students study consumer behaviour, marketing research, new product development, distribution, pricing, and integrated marketing communications, working through formal presentations, group projects, and case studies. Core courses include Foundations of Marketing, Introduction to Business Analytics, Introduction to Business Skills, Principles of Macroeconomics, and Principles of Microeconomics. The program includes a co-operative work placement option that alternates paid full-time work experience with academic study, plus study-abroad opportunities, collaborative teamwork, and mentorship connections with established professionals. Graduates are prepared for career opportunities in management, marketing, and business development, and the degree can serve as a stepping stone to graduate studies or professional programs such as law, medicine, veterinary medicine, or education. The program suits students interested in understanding how organizations turn ideas into products, price them, bring them to market, and communicate their benefits to consumers. Instruction is delivered on campus at the University of Calgary.
