Overview
The Master of Arts in Financial Economics provides graduate training in economics, finance, and quantitative analysis, combining coursework in economic theory and applied methods with small-cohort, research-oriented instruction. The program prepares graduates for careers in finance, consulting, government, and policy analysis, and for further doctoral study. Two completion options are available: an eight-month coursework-only route and a twelve-month route that includes a major research project; both are delivered full-time on campus with a single Fall intake each year. Admission requires a four-year honours bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or a related field, a minimum B+ average from the final two years of study, and prior coursework in calculus, optimization, and regression analysis. Two academic references are required. Neither the GRE nor the GMAT is required for admission, though proof of English language proficiency is required for applicants whose first language is not English.
