Overview
This Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, offered through the Faculty of Arts, covers the scientific study of behaviour and mental processes across seven areas: applied behaviour analysis, brain and cognitive sciences, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, quantitative methods, school psychology, and social and personality psychology. The degree is available as a three-year General program (90 credit hours), a four-year Advanced program (120 credit hours), or a four-year Honours program (120 credit hours, minimum 3.00 GPA), the last being preferred preparation for graduate study; an 18-credit-hour minor and a co-op option with the Advanced major are also offered. All routes include general education requirements across humanities, social sciences, sciences, English composition, mathematics, and Indigenous content. Delivered at the Fort Garry campus, with part-time study available for the General and Advanced routes, the program suits students considering careers in business, community organizations, consulting, correctional services, or social services, or graduate study in psychology or related professional fields.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Faculty of Arts admission (applies to all BA majors; no Psychology-specific admission requirement). Direct Entry (Manitoba high school students, fewer than 24 post-secondary credit hours): minimum average of 70% over English 40S, Mathematics 40S, and two academic 40S courses, with no less than 60% in each course. Advanced Entry (24+ post-secondary credit hours): minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (C). Applicants enter the general Bachelor of Arts and choose Psychology afterward. For the Honours stream, students should apply immediately after completing PSYC 2260; specific GPA and credit-hour thresholds for the General, Advanced and Honours options are set out in the Academic Calendar. Meeting these minimums does not guarantee admission.

No Fall 2027 Direct Entry deadline has been published yet, so specific 2027 dates cannot be stated for the university's main intake. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
