The Master of Public Health, offered by the College of Community and Global Health's Department of Community Health Sciences, provides multidisciplinary graduate training in the concepts and methods of population-based health sciences and their application to public health and preventive medicine practice. The program consists of 30 credit hours of 7000-level core and elective coursework, completed full-time in two years or part-time in four. After coursework, most students complete a field placement applying public health concepts in practice; students with extensive prior public health experience may instead be eligible for a capstone research project. Core courses cover epidemiology, applied public health epidemiology, biostatistics, and program evaluation, alongside electives offered across the College. The program is intended for individuals who already work, or plan to work, as community health professionals in local, regional, provincial, or federal health departments.
