The Master of Science in Community Health Sciences, offered by the College of Community and Global Health, provides research-focused graduate training in the concepts and methods of population-based health sciences. The program requires 21 credit hours of 7000-level coursework, comprising nine credit hours of required courses, three credit hours of methods, and nine credit hours of electives, completed alongside a thesis based on original research; a biostatistics concentration is available with a modified course mix. The program can be completed full-time in two years or part-time in four. Core coursework covers epidemiology and methods and concepts for community health sciences, with a choice of biostatistics or qualitative research methods, and a thesis proposal defence held once core methods courses are complete. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requirements for the M.Sc. are generally those of the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS). Community Health Sciences additionally requires English Language Proficiency test scores above the FGS minimum requirement. An undergraduate-level course in statistics is required by the time of admission if a student intends to complete CHSC 7820, or additional statistical training will be required.
