Master of Arts Public Administration

The Master of Arts in Public Administration is offered by the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. The program provides students with theoretical and conceptual knowledge of public administration and develops research skills relevant to constantly changing organizational environments. Students may complete the degree through a thesis option or a research-paper option, and may specialize in either public management or public policy. The program is offered in both English and French; all students must complete the course PAP 6502, taught in French only, and must be able to read materials in both languages. Applicants whose first language is neither French nor English must provide proof of their language competence as part of the application, and the program may also conduct interviews or language testing. A co-operative education option involving workplace placements is available to eligible students.
