BA/BS in French is a bachelor's degree in Linguistics & Language Studies programme taught at University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada. The programme runs for 4 years. Tuition for international students is CAD 39,007 per year (CAD 8,059 per year for local students).
French is a Bachelor of Arts offered through the College of Arts and Science at the University of Saskatchewan, available in three- and four-year formats as well as honours and double honours options, with full-time, part-time, and off-campus study available. The program covers French language instruction alongside the literature, civilizations, and cultures of France and French Canada, including works by Francophone writers from Saskatchewan and the prairies studied in the original language and in translation. Class sizes are kept relatively small to support direct interaction with instructors, and students have opportunities to study or work abroad, including through the federally funded Explore immersion program in Quebec. Faculty maintain ties to the local Francophone community, and courses draw on related cultural and translation activities. The program suits students seeking bilingual proficiency for internationally oriented careers, combining language training with literary and cultural study. Graduates pursue roles such as translator, foreign service officer, international relations consultant, cultural events coordinator, librarian, and ESL teacher, reflecting the program's emphasis on cross-cultural communication alongside language competency.

Admission Requirements: Direct entry from high school requires senior secondary mathematics and a minimum overall admission average of 70%, assessed against the applicant's own curriculum: Saskatchewan applicants need Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre-Calculus 30 (Pre-Calculus recommended for a Bachelor of Science stream), with an equivalent senior math course required from other provinces and countries; students missing the course can still be admitted with a math deficiency to clear under advisement.
