The Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering is offered by the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and applies the methods, principles, and tools of engineering, physical sciences, and mathematics to problems in medicine and the life sciences, combining coursework with a research thesis. The standard entry route from a relevant master's degree runs four years full-time and is delivered in person; direct entry from a bachelor's degree and transfer from the Institute's MASc program are also available.
