Overview

The PhD in Management is offered by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto through the School of Graduate Studies. The program trains students for careers in business research and academia, with specialization available in one of seven fields: Accounting, Business Economics, Finance, Marketing, Operations Management, Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, and Strategic Management. Candidates complete coursework and original dissertation research under the supervision of Rotman faculty, working toward the Doctor of Philosophy credential. Admission is open to applicants with a relevant undergraduate or master's degree and a minimum B+ average, or a minimum A- average for direct entry from a bachelor's degree. Applicants must submit results of an English language proficiency test if their prior education was not conducted in English; the GMAT or GRE was optional for the most recent application cycle. Students identify and secure a faculty supervisor after being admitted to the program.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Minimum admission average of B+ for both domestic and international applicants; direct entry from a bachelor's degree is available with a minimum GPA of A-. Applicants must submit results of an English language proficiency test. The GMAT/GRE was optional for the most recent application cycle. The supervisor is secured by the student after admission and is not a condition of admission.
