Criminology at the University of Toronto is offered under two related but separately administered Honours Bachelor of Arts programs. At the Mississauga campus, it is offered as Criminology, Law & Society, with Major, Minor, and Specialist options. At the St. George campus, through the Faculty of Arts & Science, it is offered as Criminology & Socio-Legal Studies, with Major and Specialist options but no Minor. Both fall within the university's Social Sciences area of study, described as examining people, cultures, and the systems that make up society to understand how societies function and change over time. Ontario applicants need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with six courses at the 4U/M level, including English, with co-op components from Grade 12 courses excluded from admission consideration. The program suits students interested in the study of crime, law, and the justice system from a social science perspective, with a choice between the Mississauga and St. George versions depending on preferred campus and depth of specialization sought.
