The Master of Science (MSc) in Pharmacology at the University of Toronto, offered through the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, covers areas such as biochemical and molecular pharmacology, cardiovascular and neuropharmacology, clinical pharmacology, drug metabolism, endocrine and immunopharmacology, pharmacogenetics, psychopharmacology, receptor pharmacology and signal transduction, and toxicology. In the thesis-based stream, students develop a knowledge base in pharmacology, formulate and test a hypothesis through active research, and present their work in a thesis; a separate course-based field in Applied Clinical Pharmacology combines coursework with a clinical research practicum in academic, industry, health-care, or government settings. The thesis-based MSc runs six sessions full-time or nine sessions part-time, with a three-year full-time or six-year part-time time limit, and is delivered in person on the St. George campus. Admission requires an appropriate bachelor's degree from a recognized university, with coursework in physiology, biochemistry, or applied sciences, and a final-year average of at least a B+.
