Green Shores Training Certificate is a certificate in Sustainable Development programme offered by University of Victoria in Victoria, Canada. The programme is delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 670 per total (CAD 670 per total for local students).
Green Shores Training teaches shoreline protection that works with coastal ecology instead of relying on hard structures such as seawalls. Delivered as one- and two-day face-to-face workshops sponsored by the Stewardship Centre for BC, the training covers the rationale and benefits of the Green Shores approach, shoreline ecology, the governance context, and the program's credit and rating systems, with site visits to local shorelines. Level 1 is aimed at a general audience of elected officials, landowners, municipal staff, conservation organizations and real estate agents; Level 2, which requires Level 1 first, targets practitioners such as biologists, engineers, planners, landscape architects, contractors and local and regional government staff applying Green Shores on real projects. Participants receive a non-credit Certificate of Participation.
