Overview
This Corporate Environmental and Social Sustainability Certificate is offered to students in a business major, joint major, honours, or joint honours program and to students in a bachelor of environment program. You may complete either the certificate in corporate environmental and social sustainability or the sustainable business joint major program, but not both the certificate and the joint major program. You'll have the option to take courses in business, society, and ethics; commercial law; environmental science; human geography; management practices; and more.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This certificate is limited to students already enrolled in an SFU Beedie School of Business major, joint major, honours or joint honours program, or in the Bachelor of Environment program; the page states no separate entrance test or minimum entering average beyond this eligibility rule. A minimum grade of C- is required in prerequisite courses, and a minimum overall SFU Business course grade point average of 2.30 is required for entry into all 300- and 400-division business courses used toward the certificate. Graduation from the certificate requires a minimum grade point average of 2.00 calculated across all courses applied toward it. No language-test scores, portfolio, or interview are mentioned. Because eligibility depends on prior admission to a qualifying SFU program, English-language proficiency for that underlying admission follows SFU's general scale, e.g. IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0.

Spring 2027 entry runs 1 July to 15 September 2026, and Summer 2027 entry runs 1 December 2026 to 15 January 2027.
