Overview
This thesis-focused MSc shares the same partnership-driven approach as the department's MA, pursuing environmental research alongside First Nations, international communities and government agencies and beginning with a mandatory three-day field camp. Admission calls for at least an A- average, 7.0, over the last two years of undergraduate study, a one-to-two-page research-intent statement identifying potential supervisors, a one-to-two-page accomplishments essay, a résumé, two references and transcripts, and a supervisor's agreement is required before admission. The degree runs full-time or part-time on-campus for about two years, can be combined with the interdisciplinary Cultural, Social and Political Thought concentration, and includes an optional co-op stream. Applications for the single September intake are due January 15, and applicants may pursue either full-time or part-time study while completing the shared field-camp orientation.
